Advanced treatment for complex recycling fractions

WEEE Do Recycling works with European recycling companies that need a reliable treatment route for mixed, composite and difficult-to-separate fractions.

Through the authorised facilities operated by TYBET OKO in Romania, WEEE Do Recycling treats WEEE and metal-bearing fractions that need further separation, and delivers identifiable output fractions for recycling, smelting or refining.

About WEEE Do Recycling

Through the authorised facilities operated by TYBET OKO in Romania, we process waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) and metal-bearing fractions that require further separation before their materials can return to industrial use.

We are particularly interested in the fractions that remain after a recycler’s initial dismantling or sorting: mixtures of plastics, ferrous and non-ferrous metals; small metallic pieces attached to other materials; and composites in which several metals remain bonded or mechanically joined.

Our role is to assess each stream, select an appropriate treatment route and produce identifiable output fractions for further recycling, smelting or refining.

How we separate complex fractions

Effective recovery depends on selecting and combining treatment stages according to the material’s composition, particle size and degree of contamination. TYBET OKO uses:

  • High-capacity shredders for electric motors and other robust composite fractions;
  • Granulators for metals, electrical cables and electronic boards;
  • Magnetic and stainless-steel separators for ferrous and stainless-steel fractions;
  • Air-gravity sorters to separate lighter and heavier particles;
  • Eddy-current separators to recover non-ferrous metals from mixed streams;
  • Four-colour optical sorters for colour-based separation;
  • Electrostatic sorting lines for fractions that are difficult to separate mechanically;
  • Hydro-granulometric sorting lines for wet separation by particle size and density;
  • Sensor-based sorting combining electromagnetic (EM), near-infrared (NIR), RGB and Deep Laser detection, where suitable for the material and installed line.

We select the processing route after assessing the incoming material and the output specifications required by the next recycler, smelter or refiner.

For each prospective stream, our technical team reviews photographs, available analyses, waste codes, expected volumes and the material’s physical form. A representative sample or trial batch can then establish the feasible separation route, expected output fractions and commercial conditions. This is especially valuable for recurring fractions whose composition changes from one shipment to the next.

A treatment partner for European recyclers

WEEE Do Recycling is designed to complement existing recycling operations. A partner may already collect, dismantle and pre-sort material efficiently, yet lack the equipment or capacity to refine a particular mixed fraction. We can evaluate that fraction as a dedicated treatment stream, with agreed acceptance criteria and a route for the materials produced.

Our objective is to make difficult fractions technically manageable and commercially transparent. We define the incoming material, record what is received, identify the resulting fractions and document their onward recovery routes. Where downstream treatment is required, we distinguish between operations performed at our facility and those performed by specialised partners.

Traceability and compliance

TYBET OKO performs recovery operations within the limits of its environmental authorisation, including R4 recycling or reclamation of metals and metal compounds for the waste streams covered by that authorisation. For eligible outputs, any claim that scrap has ceased to be waste is assessed against the specific conditions of Regulation (EU) No 333/2011 or Regulation (EU) No 715/2013; treatment alone does not automatically confer end-of-waste status.

Cross-border waste shipments are assessed under Regulation (EU) 2024/1157 according to the material’s classification, destination and applicable procedure. Where required, shipment information and documents are exchanged through the Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS). We support partners with the documentation relevant to reception, treatment and completion of recovery, according to the operation actually performed.

Our processes are organised around quality control, environmental management, worker safety and documented material traceability. Details of applicable ISO certifications, the certified legal entity, their scope and validity are available to partners as part of supplier qualification. See Certifications and authorisations.

Equipment containing information

Devices containing storage media require a separate decision before material recycling begins. Where secure destruction is requested, the equipment can be routed through an agreed controlled process, with identification of the assets or media, documented custody, a defined destruction method and a certificate describing the operation performed.

For data-bearing media, the required result and evidence should be specified in advance with reference, where applicable, to DIN 66399 / ISO/IEC 21964 and NIST SP 800-88 Revision 2. The documented destruction level must correspond to the equipment, method and measured result used for that particular job. Once the information risk has been addressed, the resulting materials can enter the appropriate recycling routes. More in secure destruction of IT equipment.

Let us assess your fraction

Send us the material’s origin, waste code, estimated quantity, photographs, available composition data and the country of dispatch. We will assess technical suitability, authorisation coverage, shipment requirements and the proposed route before agreeing acceptance or commercial terms.

Frequently asked questions

Which fractions does WEEE Do Recycling treat?

Mixed, composite and difficult-to-separate fractions from WEEE and metal-bearing waste, such as plastic–metal mixtures, small metal pieces attached to other materials, cables, motors, transformers and electronic boards.

Who performs the treatment?

Treatment is performed at the authorised facilities operated by TYBET OKO in Romania, within the limits of its environmental authorisation.

How do I start with a new fraction?

Send the origin, waste code, estimated quantity, photographs, available composition data and country of dispatch. We assess suitability, authorisation coverage and shipment requirements before agreeing acceptance or commercial terms.

What documents do I get for ESG reporting?

Transport and handover documents, records by category and, for secure destruction, a destruction record. They support your own records; reporting remains your company’s responsibility.
