Certifications and Authorisations
European recycling partners need to know who receives their material, which operations are authorised and what evidence they will receive after treatment.
We make this information available during supplier qualification and confirm the applicable treatment route before any shipment is arranged.
Environmental authorisation
Our Romanian operating company, TYBET OKO, treats waste within the scope of its environmental authorisation. This includes R4, recycling or reclamation of metals and metal compounds, for the waste codes and operations specified in that authorisation. Where another recovery operation applies, we identify it separately in the proposed treatment route and documentation.
Before accepting a new fraction, we check its waste code, composition, origin, potential hazardous properties and compatibility with the authorised process. An authorisation for R4 does not mean that every metal-bearing waste can be accepted or that every resulting fraction automatically ceases to be waste.
Management system certifications
Our quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, and information security arrangements are documented through the certifications held by the relevant operating entities. During qualification, partners can request the current certificates and verify the certificate holder, certified activities, site addresses, validity dates and issuing certification body.
The standards relevant to our services are:
- ISO 9001: quality management;
- ISO 14001: environmental management;
- ISO 45001: occupational health and safety management;
- ISO/IEC 27001: information security management, where included in the certified scope of the entity providing the relevant service.
The certificates displayed on this website will identify the legal entity and activities they cover. A group company’s certificate is not presented as a certification of another company or facility.
Cross-border waste shipments
Shipments from other European countries are assessed under Regulation (EU) 2024/1157. The procedure depends on the waste classification, composition, country of dispatch and proposed recovery operation. Where applicable, shipment information and documents are exchanged through the Digital Waste Shipment System (DIWASS).
DIWASS is a digital system for managing shipment information; it is not a certification. We confirm the required shipment procedure and responsibilities with the partner before material is dispatched. Read our guide to cross-border waste shipments.
Treatment records and recovery evidence
For accepted material, we can provide the documentation applicable to the operation performed, including reception records, quantities received, treatment records and confirmation of recovery. Where further processing is performed by a downstream facility, we identify that route and provide the supporting evidence available for the completed operation.
For eligible metal outputs, end-of-waste status is assessed against the specific requirements of Regulation (EU) No 333/2011 for iron, steel and aluminium scrap or Regulation (EU) No 715/2013 for copper scrap. These criteria are applied to qualifying output fractions, not to all materials produced by our facilities.
Devices containing confidential information
Equipment containing data-bearing media can be assessed for a controlled secure-destruction route before material recycling. The responsible service provider, chain of custody, destruction method, required security level and certificate content are agreed for each project.
Where relevant, the destruction specification may refer to DIN 66399 / ISO/IEC 21964 or NIST SP 800-88 Revision 2. Any stated security level or sanitisation result is supported by the method used and the records issued for that job. See secure destruction of IT equipment.
Frequently asked questions
Which recovery operation is covered by the environmental authorisation?
TYBET OKO treats waste within the scope of its environmental authorisation, which includes R4, recycling or reclamation of metals and metal compounds, for the waste codes and operations specified in that authorisation.
Does treatment automatically end the waste status of scrap?
No. End-of-waste status is assessed against the specific requirements of Regulation (EU) No 333/2011 for iron, steel and aluminium scrap or Regulation (EU) No 715/2013 for copper scrap, and only for qualifying output fractions.
Is DIWASS a certification?
No. DIWASS is the Digital Waste Shipment System used to exchange shipment information and documents. It is not a certification.
How can I verify your ISO certificates?
During supplier qualification you can request the current certificates and check the certificate holder, certified activities, site addresses, validity dates and issuing certification body.
