Materials and components
Depending on waste classification, composition and the scope of our environmental authorisation, we assess metal, metal–plastic and composite fractions.
Fractions we assess
Depending on waste classification, composition and the scope of our environmental authorisation, we assess fractions containing:
- copper, aluminium, zinc, titanium, zamak and magnesium;
- brass, bronze, tin, lead and nickel silver (alpaca);
- stainless steel and other ferrous metals;
- mixed metal and plastic fractions from WEEE processing;
- electrical cables, motors and selected electronic components;
- electric motors: small units from WEEE devices and large industrial units of 1–15 t per piece;
- transformers: small units from WEEE devices and large industrial units of 1–100 t per piece, including units containing PCBs;
- copper–aluminium radiators and cooling components from electrical and electronic equipment;
- copper sludge from the wire-drawing process;
- assemblies and composite fractions in which different metals remain attached to one another.
Industrial and special fractions
Packaging washing plant residues
Small, entangled aluminium and plastic particles left after sorting mixed PET bottles, aluminium cans and other collected packaging.
Slags, non-ferrous pastes and dusts
Mixed residues from industrial processes containing copper, tin, silver, lead or other non-ferrous metals. We assess their composition and recovery potential to identify a suitable route for separating and recovering the valuable metals.
Firing range metal residues
Spent cartridge cases, bullet fragments and collected dust containing brass, copper, lead, Monel or other non-ferrous alloys. We assess these mixed fractions to identify suitable metal recovery routes.
WEEE, photovoltaic panels and batteries
We also assess WEEE, photovoltaic panels and battery streams through the treatment routes applicable to each category. These streams are reviewed separately because their handling, depollution, safety and documentation requirements differ. See solar panel recycling and EV battery recycling.
How we separate complex fractions
Effective recovery rarely depends on a single machine. It depends on selecting and combining treatment stages according to the material’s composition, particle size and degree of contamination.
Our available processing technologies include industrial shredding and granulation, ferrous metal separation, air-gravity sorting, eddy-current separation, electrostatic separation, optical colour sorting and hydro-granulometric separation. Where appropriate for the material and the installed line, sensor-based sorting can combine electromagnetic detection with NIR and RGB recognition and automated object identification. Frequently asked questions
Which materials can you assess?
Depending on waste classification, composition and the scope of the environmental authorisation, we assess metal, metal–plastic and composite fractions, including copper, aluminium, brass, stainless steel, cables, motors, transformers, slags, pastes and dusts.
Do you accept large electric motors and transformers?
We assess small units from WEEE devices and large industrial units, motors of 1–15 t per piece and transformers of 1–100 t per piece, including units containing PCBs, subject to authorisation coverage and applicable rules.
Are photovoltaic panels and batteries treated in the same way?
No. WEEE, photovoltaic panels and battery streams are reviewed separately because their handling, depollution, safety and documentation requirements differ.
